Since it's inception in 2004, Facebook has been trying to predict what content is most important to its users. These predictions utilize data or ranking signals. which are constantly being adjusted to coincide with the changing interests of each user. Just as users interests change, so does Facebook's algorithm. The algorithm is used to calculate which posts will be the most beneficial and impactful to a user over the longest period of time. The more engaging content a user posts, the more the algorithm works in their favor. Here's what you can do to step up your Facebooking game in 2021...

7 Tips for Optimizing Facebook Algorithm
Time your posts. The most recent posts automatically go to the top of the news feed. Be sure to schedule your posts when you know your audience is going to be online.
Make connections with your audience. Reply to comments or messages from users who are interacting with your page. The algorithm prioritizes posts from from pages that users interact with more regularly. Encourage users to 'favorite' your page. Users also have the option to make up to 30 pages their 'favorite' which ultimately prioritizes those pages content.
Utilize Facebook stories. The algorithm doesn't apply to stories and are a super effective in driving traffic. The best stories are easy to understand, show new products and/or provide advice or tips.
Start a conversation. Facebook bumps conversations to the top of the feed. By starting an conversation that engages your audience, when another user responds, the algorithm automatically shows the post to the user(s) again.
Spark strong emotion. Facebook values the reaction buttons more than the 'like' button. Adding content that resonates strongly with your audience will likely encourage them to hit the love, laugh, caring, sad, or angry reactions and increase your ranking.
Go live. Going live on Facebook engages users 6x more than traditional videos. Posting videos that engage users for long periods of time also increases your Facebook ranking.
Avoid sharing misinformation. For obvious reasons, this is a horrible thing to do. But, Facebook also penalizes you for it. Plus, posting fake news is super lame anyways.
